Assign the Surfsight AI-12 Dashcam to a Vehicle on MyGeotab
Please note: the Geotab security clearance affects the users’ provisioning and management of the Surfsight Dashcam.
Security Restrictions:
The Geotab security settings affect the provisioning and management of the Surfsight dashcam within the Surfsight Add-In:
1. Only users with the security clearance true for ‘Admin Devices’ can Add / Delete / Update cameras. All other users will not have the buttons ‘Add Camera’, ‘Delete’, and ‘Upgrade’ available to them.
2. Only users with the security clearance true for ‘Administer Exception List’ can edit ‘Video Rules’ and ‘Set Camera Rules’ from the Surfsight Add-In. An error message will display indicating ‘Unauthorized Access’.
Assign the Surfsight Dashcam to a Vehicle:
To add a new Surfsight dashcam to a vehicle, the vehicle must be defined in the Geotab system and the Surfsight dashcam needs to be installed.
1. Click on the 'Surfsight Add-In' on the left bar. Then click 'Vehicles' in the sub-menu.
2. On the Vehicles page, click the 'Add Vehicles' button at the top.
3. Enter the dashcam IMEI number and select the vehicle associated with the Geotab device from the drop-down list.
4. Click 'OK' at the top of the page to save the information.
5. Navigate to the 'Vehicles' page and check that your vehicle was added to the list.
