Geotab Drive - Drivers drive logs are not changing automatically

This article explains how to fix drivers drive logs when they are not changing automatically.

Meaning

It could be because the device is in Listen Only Mode.

What this means is that the device has a loose connection. It can be something as simple as the device was knocked looser than it normally is, or even that one of the pins are not secured properly. Listen only mode means that the device is only listening to the data the engine is sending it, it's not requesting the engine data anymore.
(Some data comes through automatically, but some needs to have the request so it sends it back to the device). 

Steps

  1.  The way it can be fixed is to correct the install. Can you please have the driver try to uninstall the device and reinstall it securely with a ziptie. If it can be wiggled with a finger, it's too loose.
  2. Please contact Geotab and ask them to check for the Engine Road Speed, and check if the device is in listen mode. If so, then they will remove the device from listen only mode.
  3. Once the device is removed from that mode, please ask customer to  unplug the unit and plug it back and then take the unit for a drive for approximately 10 - 15 minutes which will resolve the issue for you.
