MyGeotab - Adding phone numbers to receive alerts when a rule gets triggered

This article explains how to add phone numbers to receive alerts when a rule gets triggered.

Issue

If a User doesn't have an email address or if they don't want to add their email to get notification when a rule gets triggered. 

They can add their phone numbers and can receive these alerts as text messages. 

Steps

      1. Login to Mygeotab > Go to Rules & Groups 

      2. Select Rules > Then click on any rule to set notification alert

      

      3. Now go to Notifications > Then click Add email 

      4. Under Email option type the 10 digit phone number with the email to text code

      5. Follow this pattern XXXXXXXXXX@EMAILTOTEXTCODE

      6. You can google the email to text code for your service provider 

      7. Or reach out to your service provider directly to get the code 

For Example: Email to text code for rogers is pcs.rogers.com

So if you have rogers number add 10 digit number with this code 

XXXXXXXXXX@pcs.rogers.com

 

     

      8. Click Add and then Save to apply changes
