FAQ's
- Email Notifications are showing the correct time but Text notifications shows the wrong time
- Text Notifications has the correct time but email notifications has incorrect time zone
- Both Email and Text notifications has incorrect Time zone
Steps
Please follow the below steps to set proper time for email and text notifications:
1. For email notifications, the UI Settings of the recipient determine the time and units of measurement in the email
2. For text notifications, the settings of the device determine the time and units of measurement in the text message
3. A time zone with region information needs to be selected under the device settings, like America/Chicago, which is in Central Time but also contains the region United States, and understands that the units of measurements are in Imperial.
Additional Notes
Example 1
If a rule is broken, and you have America/Chicago in the device time zone settings, then you will see the text notification in Central Time, and in Miles per hour (Imperial).
If the same rule is broken, but the device is in America/Winnipeg time zone, then you will see the text notification in Central Time, and in kilometers per hour (metric).
Example 2
My user is in Pacific Time and Metric, thus I see the email notifications in Pacific Time and kilometers per hour. However, since the device was in America/New York, my text notifications were on Eastern Time and Miles per Hour.
I changed the device time zone to America/Vancouver and then I started receiving the text notifications in Pacific Time and Kilometers per Hour.
